Landslide Management Projects
National Highway Authority(NHA) and Frontier Organization (FWO)
- Several landslides along Islamabad Murree Dual Carriageway (IMDC) such as KM 38, KM 26, KM 30, KM 44, etc. were investigated using hybrid techniques using Geophysical, geotechnical, and GIS & RS techniques were investigated, evaluated, and designed.
- Runout analyses of Malakandi Landslide for identification of bridge locations of road diversion.
- Stabilization of mepa slope near Chanjal, Battapram.
- Geophysical investigation for selection of locations and depth of piles for the construction of avalanche shelter near Pashi, Muzaffarabad.
- Analyses and design of several slopes along KKH (Mansehra to Thakot), Mansehra to Mahandri, Muzaffarabad to Chakothi.
- In view of the very limited construction space, compulsion of always keeping the traffic open, the need to construct in the shortest possible timeframe, and ensuring optimal economy, Director GeoSync introduced a new system (old concept, though) of slope stabilization & reinforcement techniques.
- The system is strictly site-specific, tested at/for IMDC peomechanical conditions, and is aimed at decreasing the driving forces and enhancing the shear strength of slope materials using a variety of micropiles and dowels augmented with structural elements.
